the mission:
Building Hope in desperate global communities through initial aid and entrepreneurial development that leads to sustainability.
active projects:
Casas Por Cristo - Acuna, Mexico
We send and fund teams to work with our partners on the ground in Acuna to build housing for impoverished individuals and families. Each house is built in 3 days from beginning to end, making every short-term investment an immediate development that fosters long-term sustainability for families. From the moment materials arrive on the ground at the site of the next build, HOPE begins to really rise in the recipients' lives because they know it won't be long before the team arrives and the house is completed. Since 2004, we have built 36 houses and have 3 more builds scheduled for 2025.
Hope Herrara School - Herrara, Ethiopia (Ziway)
This community is solidly a part of the global poor (communities where people make less than $2/day). The school is operated by our partners at Hope Enterprises Ethiopia. We support children through sponsorships that provide each child education, 2 meals a day, school uniform and a Christmas present. Since 2016, we have supported 125 children in the school of 800 students. Our current focus is starting an agricultural development with the goal of cutting the food cost for the school by 75% which cuts the support needed for each student by 50%. This development will also provide an education component for the school and be paired with and entrepreneurial curriculum that will foster a greater vision of what could be and what should be in this community.
Build Hope Africa - Ziway, Ethiopia
Since 2009, Build Hope has worked with a vulnerable people group called the Zay People. Our work began with installing five clean water wells and has continued with distributing solar lights in every hut (equipped with usb phone chargers) and a goat farming project. The most recent work that will be completed in 2025 is the development of a written language for this people group. Having a written language is the key requirement/challenge for every people group in Ethiopia in order for them to attain official recognition from the government. Currently the official language completion and celebration date is scheduled for June 14, 2025.
